OLD,
You know it does kind of look like a standard with that axle under it. This was just one of my wild Ideas I had at the time I had fun doing it.
I still have the narrow front for it yet. It's been a conversation peice since though. Had a few other people wanted me to make one for them also. Mike

I know what you mean as far as finding wide front ends for the Olivers. It took me 2 or 3 years to find a wide front for my S88 and then I had to buy a tractor to get it. I still have a 77 that I would love to put a wide front on but since I use it to mow hay I'm not as worryed about it as I was the S88, I use the S88 to pull my baler and the wide front works better then the trike front did. I always hated to run over the wind rows when I was baleing with the trike front end.

Adam,
You are right on the Rear Combine Axle. I couldn"t find a OEM wide front at the time I wanted one. In our area parts for Olivers was pretty much picked over getting harder to find. Back when I bought the super I didn"t have a computer at that time. It would of been much easyer to find one if I had one.

I used this tractor on my dads farm and to me it steered hard. But Dads tractors all had power steering on them. So one day I was looking for a combine part for my combine and I new this guy about a 15 minute drive from me scraps out combines. I was looking over this JD 95 combine steering axle and got to thinking why I couldn"t go that route for a steering axle. I asked if he"d sell the axle seperate for the combine - said yes and he took the cutting torch to it and I brought it home. I robbed the directional Valve off the combine and I also took the Hydrostatic steering motor too. I had some fabricating to do on the axle shorten it I think was 8" oval. Did the same to the tie rod. I wasn"t sure on how I was going to design the pedistal to make sure it would be strong enought to hold up under farming conditions. Made myself some temp plates out of card board for practice peices.

I think the hardest part was making the bracket for the power steering pump and alternator together. I had to put a small GM power steering pump on for room.(Not to much room under the hood on the 77"s to play with.) The wish bone and Bearing plate wasn"t to bad to make. Then it was the trial an error period when I had everything hooked up to try. I found out right away I had one of the hoses hook the wrong way as soon as started the engine and I grab the steering wheel to turn it, It liked to throw me over the fender of the tractor. (Ouch)
I guess all & all it didn"t turn out to bad. Don"t use the tractor that much anymore, mostly sits in the barn now. Dads gone now and I"m not the best of health so the farm gets rented out. My youngest son took it to the labor day parade last year and also pull with it at the tractor pulls they had there.
Been think of selling it??
Sorry for the long boring thread. Mike

Engine is sitting in it but thats about it. I plan to hook the clutch linkage up soon and then give it a short test before adding the rest of the stuff.

The case was a fan belt that ended up being a radiator and then the wireing and then the alternator. We still haven't fixed the alternator yet but since its a diesel its not something that has to be done right now. We will wait till it gets warmer out and fix that. The crawler I'm working on is and HG that I'm outting an Oliver 60 engine in to. Slow going but I'm getting there slow but sure I hope
