Well, This Oliver Super 77D followed me home this morn. Motor is not froze up, does turn over. Will be attempting to start it in the next couple of days.

It seems to have a intake heater, which does work. Both 6 volt batteries are shot. Hooked up a 12 volt battery via jumper cables, either starter is bad or starter switch is not making contact or bad.:>(

Is thare anything in particular that I need to check or be on the look out for....Thanks

Keith & Shawn

Diesel fuel does not suffer the same problems of modern gasoline after sitting for a long period- I'd be for pulling it to start, and I bet it will. Won't hurt to try. Congratulations- I try to park my trailer near as many old Olivers as possible, in hopes that they will jump on- I haven't had much luck, but looks like you were successful.

Mike, maybe you have to nice a looking trailer. Try baiting with trailer in need of a good paint job. Took me a week to get this one to jump:>)

Olies might think with a nice pretty trailer you are baiting them to go to China :>)

No one's ever accused me of having too nice a trailer. In fact, a friend used to borrow it every year to haul his father-in-laws tractor a few miles to his place for haying. Now, its a nice gesture for the borrower to wash the trailer before he brings it back, but its downright embarrassing if he PAINTS it.

Theres another reson to use an old ugly truck and trailor. They jump on with a little less $$$ out of pocket. They figure you don't have a lot of $$ to play with and know they will be put back to work like all old tractors should be

Old is right on that topic.By the way, those must be some good fenders on that trailer from the way the tractor is parked on one of them??

shannon, your correct it is sitting on both fenders, I built those fenders to with stand weight of tractors. Hauled this tractor approx.15 to 20 miles, after I unloaded it, had no indication of anything being on them. With 8 ft wide trailer never know what is going to have be loaded on or drive over fenders.
I want to say fenders are 10 gage, but if I remember correctly they are heavier than that. I built this trailer in 1980 or 81....thanks for the responce

Keith, how long has it set?? I'd drain the fuel and change the filter, hope the injection pump is good because from what I have heard the pumps that should be on it are a big hurt in the back pocket if they need to be rebuilt. I'd also pull the starter and do a bench test and make sure its ok and the bendex is also good. You now need an O-201 I-T manual LOL

Durn Old, quit pointing out the bad things that might go wrong.:>) It must have wanted new home cause it was a trick making that jump.

I will pull the starter tomorrow to bench test and check bendix.

I looked in the tank could not see a thing will have to use fashlite later.

If I remember, getting harder and harder to do,think he told me they parked it last year.

Check you email, Old

You might get lucky and just have to change the filters and fill them before putting them on by the way. I don't know how much you have done with a diesel. To tell the truth the easy way to start it will be to pull it. You probably will have air in the system and some times to clear the air out will take/drain 2 or 3 good batterys, BTDT. I had an Allis XT190 that I got the injector pump rebuilt and I didn't think I was ever going to get it to hit but after draining 2 or 3 batterys it did. Purred like a kitten but was way to big for my place. I don't need 98 HP for any thing LOL
