I have been kicking around the idea of squeezing a little more power out of a super 88 diesel for pulling. I was wondering if 310 manifolds would bolt on, I 'm pretty sure 283 manifolds will fit. I would like to get the head ported but would like to know much and what valves fit. I was also wondering about injector pumps. The stock bosch has issues w/ the governor, opens too late and the motor is already under too much of a load for the extra fuel to help. Should I bother having it re-done or just go to a bigger pump and if so which ones fit? New at all this so any help would be great.

The 88 diesel has pre combustion chambers in the heads and you can not get much more hp than stock, maybe 65 hp. You need 100 hp or more to make a good pulling tractor, use a gas or diesel with pre combustion chambers in the pistons. Larry.
