Can't even use

I have been slowly fixing our 77 but have been stumped recently. I need to replace the tranny input shaft but can't figure how to get her out. I have the tranny cover off and the engine out with the coupler off and all the snap rings I see off but it only moves an inch or so towards the engine bay. Seems like there is another snap ring inside I can't get too. Thinkin the "cultivator lifter" needs to come off but can't figure the one out either. Have all the bolts off the front and it wiggles but won't come off. What is the trick? Thanks in advance.

Pull the PTO shaft that runs through it from the rear end, remove the belt pulley unit, and take it right out.

Is the cultivator lifter a mechanical lift? To me that would be the cover over the transmission. Also soe the unit have a belt pulley gear box unit. Start there. If the lift is still on it will need to come off. Questions?

Did not catch it in time. I meant to ask, does the tractor have a belt pulley drive attached yet?

Duhh, that is the belt pulley gearbox not the cultivator lift, see what happens when you work on something too long. Yes it still has the belt pulley gearbox on and that is what I can't get off. It is loose but won't budge.
