Thanks for replies! The clutch travels about 60% before a feeling of it pushing something happens. Their is no noises at all from the clutch assy. The tractor does sit for a couple or 3 months at a time before it gets a couple hours work. Thats been a normal habbit for the tractor for 15 years. it sure would be great if its just an adjustment somewhere!
Thanks again Jim

JL,you have too much toe clearance.Try adjusting to achieve 1 1/4-1 1/2" The adjusting arm and nuts are on the LH side of tractor at bellhousing.~brad

Maybe as Bradk says and or it could also be a rusty flywheel and preassure plate. My Super 88 gets that way after it sits for a couple weeks or so. I just start it in gear with my foot on the clutch pedel and all is well after about a minute or 2. If I don't do that it will not go in any gear, but after doing that it shifts just fine till I let it sit a few days again. Sort of a common problem with tractors and even worse if the weather is humid.

No,you're not low on a fluid.Either the clutch needs adjusting, the pressure plate is bad,or the throw-out bearing is bad.How much toe clearance do you have?Does clutch make noise in that area?~brad
