How to correctly use the PTO on my 1365

Recently got my hands on a 1365. Works fine. I will mainly use it for snowblowing this winter. I know the long lever to left of the dash engages the PTO. Here's my question. What position should the lever on the floor be when I work the snowblower : engine or gearbox ? The PTO also drives the pump for my loader.

The Oliver 1365 is a Fiat design and as far as I know is similar to my Long 610.

You should have the gearshift lever on the floor in engine position, I believe, for independent PTO operation. Gearbox means that the PTO will only work if the foot clutch is out. It is important not to run the tractor for more that a few minutes with the long PTO lever up as this causes more wear on the clutch throwout bearing.
If you are moving the tractor very far it is best to disengage the PTO with the gear shift lever, then leave the long PTO lever down.

Thanks for the info. As I understand it I will run the independent PTO for snowblowing and loader use (gearshift lever on the floor in engine position and PTO clutch lever down). If I'm not using the PTO I should put the gearshift lever on the floor in neutral and keep the PTO clutch lever down.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Manitenance hint, forgot this earlier.

If the oliver is like my Long, the air cleaner intake is behind the grill. The radiator fan is pulling air and trash into the area and I found I had to clean out the intake. Involves taking the oil bath cleaner out of the tractor. Also, sometimes the steel wool in the oil bath cleaner needs cleaning out with gasoline. After washing it out, blow the gas out and LET SIT overnight. Putting it back immediately in tractor and cranking it lets the gas fumes be an unregulated fuel supply and the engine will rev up too much.
