I have never had the valve cover off till last night. The rocker arms have always chattered but it had lots of power so I didn't touch it.I decided to freshen everything up for next season so I pulled the valve cover intending on resetting the lash. The book said 16 thousanths on the exaust and 10 on intake or vise versa,(I don't have the book here with me right now)but some were 40,30,and some other settings but not even close to the book settings.I cranked it up after the resetting the lash and man what a difference it made. From now on I am going to keep a closer eye on the valve lash.

Did you run it with the cover off so you could see if oil was getting up there?
