Changing the oil in an Oliver OC-46 loader. Plenty of oil in the sump, almost none in the filter.

3 cylinder gas engine. Ran tractor to warm up oil before draining. Oil pressure was 20% at idle and 40% at 3/4 throtle. Seemed normal. Gauge has no actual psi markings.

Thanks in advance

If your oil filtration system is full flow, you have unfiltered oil to your bearings, assuming oil pressure reading is taken from the main oil gallery. If it a bypass system, you will, of course, be passing "unfiltered" oil to your bearings - as normally only a fraction of the oil pump output will be filtered and this fraction will be returned directly to the sump. The bypass system was adequate for wide tolerance (clearance), thick walled, or spun-babbit bearings. Precision thin walled shells are not so tolerant. You need to find where the restriction is and rectify, with much greater urgency for the precision shell bearing scenario. I presume you do not have a manual for this machine, and, if this is the case, would recommend you obtain these invaluable assets before you do much more damage than the cost of the manuals.
Of course you realise that a gallon or so of oil in the sump is far more than, possibly less than half a pint, in the filter. You can usually check whether oil is being filtered by checking the temperature of the canister.
Hope this helps, RAB
