I have been on mission for a while to find My fathers Oliver Super 77 tractor. This one is special because as a child it was the first tractor I ever drove. Dad had gotten his truck stuck in the snow down the road and walked home. He fired up the oliver and with me on the fender drove down to retrieve it. When we got to the truck he gave me some quick instructions and put me on the tractor. The snow was bad enough that I ended up just pulling the truck all the way home about a mile. I was about 6 and had to stand up to engage the clutch. As I got older I spent many hours on that tractor doing farm work. I finally got married and moved away, Dad quit farming and the place sat abandoned for years. I never knew what happened to the old tractor. After some intense questioning I got a partial name of who Dad sold it to and the town. Finally found that guy,who had bought it to make a puller and never did. He sold it to someone else. I got that name and with some research found an address. Today I took a drive to the place, nobody home. As I was leaving I glanced across the field and there it was - an old oliver sitting half exposed to the elements in a falling down open front shed. Assuming that is the tractor I"m looking for I wasn"t sure if I should jump up and down for finding it or cry for finding it in such sorry shape. I will continue to try and contact the owner and hopefully he will be willing to part with it at a reasonable price so I can still afford to restore the thing. I just can"t wait to drive it again in the snow, one of my proudest childhood days.

Jack,

Congratulations on finding your old friend. As to the purchase, go for it! I bought the old Oliver 88RC I used to work with as a kid in March of this year. It ran great but looked like it needed to be junked. I'm just about finished restoring it and it's been worth every penny! I've reminisced for years about working with the old tractor and pulling it in the local county fair tractor pull, but never dreamed that it would end up 35 years later sitting in my garage! Good luck and keep us posted!

I'd be jumpin up & down for finding it!!! I wish I had the 1st clue where my grandpa's old HP 70 was, I'd love to find it again but I don't even know where to start looking. Grandpa sold it and he's been dead for over 10 years now

Well I have to admit it isn't very often you hear of some one actually finding a particular tractor they set out to find.

Congratulations.
