Please help, having a problem with my Oliver 600 tractor where the gannon will not lower. I can hear the pump running and when I close the return line shutoff needle valve the gannon will try to move down but acts like its locked. I have had the valve in a open position and nothing will happen. I have also, had the rigthside cover off and when I push the gannon lever down fluid will shut out the cover hole? Don't know if this is normal because I just got the tractor? I have order an part/service manuels but thought someone that knows these tractor may shed some light on this problem. Also, gear case is full of oil.
Thanks,
Dan

Its a David Brown in Oliver sheetmetal- There was also a 500- don't remember the corresponding DB model numbers. You need to know that, as I don't believe you'll find an AGCO dealer who even knows what they are, much less be able to find a part.

A Oliver 600 is a Bavid Brown 990 Implematic. If you get a David Brown parts book look under "990A".For information go to Google and type in "David Brown Tractor". You won't believe what's out there for DB's. Danny Bowes in Ottowa, Ont. can help with parts etc.

The tractor has a lift lock for transport on the left rear side of the lift rock shaft . With the lift lever all the way up you should be able to release it.

I can lift this shaft or lower it but it only seems to shut off the pump (gannon only moves slightly with lever down position). It has a cable attached to it and it is completely rusted and will not move in and out with the lever. would this cable be the problem where the lever is down but the cable is not releasing something in the pump?
Thanks,
Dan

The transport lock is a round knob . With the weight off it you turn it about a half turn to release it

The round knob is yellow and on the left side, correct? I have turned this knob but it turns free. Because the knob is only held on by with a clip ring. You said take the weight off it, all the weight or just the gannon weight. Will this knob just pop out or in with the weight off? However, I will try removing the gannon weight, pushing the rock arm up and pulling the knob out/in? Do you think this will work? It would great if that is all is wrong.
Thanks,
Dan
