I am going to replace the spark plugs in my 30 and 40 this weekend. Does anyone have a plug they find better in these tractors? I was going to get J11s. The tractors don't do much work mostly just shows. Thanks.

I have used Champion J11 and J14Y in a 30 that I pull in Division II and III. They work very well. The J11 is recommended and is a little hotter than the J14Y, so it would be better for light work. The J14Y or J18Y will also work fine. The above spark plugs with a "C" as the last letter in the designation is also OK. The "C" means that the center electrode is copper cored which makes the plug run cooler and will normally last longer without a decrease in proformance.

Matt_In,

Champion J11C, AC/Delco 46 or Autolite 306 are the spark plug recommends for your Cockshutt 30, 40 & 50.

Have seen several knowledgeable people on these boards swear that they would never buy another Champion sparkplug. Autolite seems well thought of, and I haven't heard much one way or the other about AC/Delco.

I would think there are also a lot of knowledgeable people out there who say nothing but simply buy other brands, or continue to buy Champion plugs.
If all Champion plugs were as bad as those people say, I would have thought Champion would no longer be in business!
