Hello, Folks! Yesterday, I drove up to Fayetteville on my day off. While up there, I stopped at the Arkansas Military Museum. I was looking at a piece of field artillery when I noticed the manufacturer's tag said "The Oliver Corporation". The "gun" is an M1A2 155mm howitzer. The carraige assembly was built by Oliver. The date tag says "1954". The chassis is equipped with Type 24 air brakes. It looks like a really well-made piece of equipment! The traversing and elevating mechanism (T&E) appears to have been made by Oliver, too. Any old artillery experts out there? I was a Seabee mechanic, and they never let me shoot anything bigger than an M203 grenade launcher! Have a great weekend!

Hi, jmeyer!
Yes...I am the same guy. I used to post as Merlin in Saint Paul, then Merlin in Saint Louis, and now Merlin in Arkansas. College and seminary, and now a one-year internship in Greenwood have kept me on the move!
