DID YOU GO TO THE AUCTION IN FOREST JUNCTION, A NUMBER OF OLIVERS TRACTORS ON THE SALE, I MESSED UP, I DIDN'T BID ON A OLIVER 4 BOTTOM RESET PLOW, VERY NICE SHAPE...SOLD FOR 475.00, IT WOULD HAVE PARED UP WITH MY 1800 REAL WELL. I DID BUY A JD...YES JOHN DEERE 2 ROW CORN PLANTER FOR A 3 POINT HITCH AND A BOWE CHOPPER RACK FOR 100.00 BUCKS, THINKING OF MAKING A FLAT RACK OUT OF IT.

Nope, didn't go. They ussually do seem to have a large selection of Ollies there, but after looking at them they've all been used hard it seems. I've built 1 flat rack using the stringers from our old Rex wagon, and I have more from an H&S I plan to do the same to.

Nothing wrong w/ usinga JD planter, that's all we have. We've got an older 12' Van Brunt drill and a 494A corn planter. Both get the job done just fine.

No kidding? His name was George Schmidt. I don't know much about his family, just that he was originally from Sherwood. (the farm seems to stay with the women in the family)

I forgot- Where are you from again?

Wouldn't have any ruffings in this area would you? I birng my truck to Ruffing Auto just down the road, think his name is Jeff but I can't remember. Good guy, prices seem reasonable.

I'll have to start picking my mom's brain about this... I have heard a few drinking stories about the Schmidt's though....

I'm not sure how much my mom will even know, she was adopted as a young pup herself, and had to put up w/ a pair of assinine adopted brothers (don't think my grandma could bear kids). They were great grandparents though, and we lived next door so they were a huge part of my families life.

My self, I'm a Nickel, dad came from Hortonville, his dad had a farm on Spring road. BIG IH man before he passed(actually, both granpa's passed 5 days apart at the same hospital) Now my uncle lives on a house built in one of the feilds between the old family farm and the neighbor's place. Our farm used to belong to my Great grandfather Jonen way back when, I forget how many kids there were but My grandma was the oldest and she had to raise the whole lot of them. I think I only have one great aunt left, she lives in Sherwood right next to the original Les Stumpf Ford lot, now a truck dealer occupies the building. During the summer her yard is FULL of flowers, and she still does most of it herself. Can't miss it if you drive through the small town.

I couldn't afford another tractor right now if I wanted one!! That place on 23, I think I drove past that w/ my girlfreind once. I picked her up at college(Lakeland) and then we went to Noah's Ark for the day. Had 2 free tickets so what the heck, right? I couldn't gawk like I wanted to cuz I had to keep her car on the road.... O well.

My brother lives in Plymouth on top of the hill on N. Main Street, so we go over there while I visit my little gal. Beutifull veiw year-round. I helped them paint last year before they moved in, and I found out a few weeks ago he and his wife are expecting in early May.

Les Stumpf was located right next to our farm for a little while after their location in Sherwood, right on the corner of 55 & KK. He bought the land from my grandpa.
