Hello, I have an 88 Diesel standard that is filling the crankcase with diesel fuel. Does anyone know where the source of the fuel is coming from? Is there seals in the injection pump that leak, or could it be the transfer/delivery pump? Thank You, Ross

Yep I agree the seals in the pump are more than likely the problem especially if it is getting alot of fuel in there quickly. Might want to check the diaphragm on the transfer pump if it has one as that can cause it also.

Check with someone who has worked on the injection pump before taking it off as everything needs to be timed before taking it off and I think the throttle needs to be tired back or something to keep some washers from falling out.

Jeff: FYI The 88 has a Bosch not a Roosa Master unless someone converted it. The Bosch is also lubricated with both engine oil and diesel fuel

Are the diaphrams available for the transfer pump? and, where are the seals in the pump that leak? right in the front where the gear drives the shaft? havent taken it off yet, just want to know what to look for. thanks, Ross

You are on the right track with the transfer pump that is mounted on the lower right side of engine block(if you are sitting on tractor)that is the easiest and in my book most likely to cause you a problem.
