Does anyone know how many 770's or 880's had a torque installed in them? Were they rare or common? I searched through the archives & don't find any mention of this.
Thank You,
John

45 Years ago about now when I started they had a rebuild program on them . The dealer I worked for probably had sold 60 of them by then and they all had a power booster but one. The last 770 the dealer sold did not have one as the older gentleman who ordered it wanted a side mounted belt pulley to grind feed. We removed about 5 of them out of a total of about 100 plus tractors.

I assume you are talking about the power booster.I would say around this area (central Ontario)there where a lot more without the under drive, but still for every 4 or 5 770 or 880"s I may see 1 with power booster. We have two 880"s and one 770 and just the one 880 has that option. It is a finicky rig to shim the clutches on, and for no apparent reason once in a blue moon when you shift down under a hard load the sprag will not catch.
