What is a runable but needing some work 880 deisel worth. Wide front. cosmetically good, paint faded, oily greasy . Tires good. Looking at offering neighbor a offer on a trio of tractors and the 880 is one of them. I am only familiar with 1850,1950 etc. Tractor is original owner and he says whem he did use it last it runs great. needs some tlc and a bath and maybe a few seals replaced
Thanks Dave

It all depends on your area. Around my area an 880 would be worth more than 1500 since they are used for hay. Typically 88s sell for 1500 to 2000+ depending on condition. An 880 is worth more around here than an 88 not to mention diesel. I wish tractors were as cheep around here as what some of the others post. I would try to find a few selling in your area to get a better idea of value. I saw a 770 with a John Deere loader and a power traction hitch sell a couple of miles from me for $6000. The bad part was there was a few more people waiting in line if he didn't come back with the money. The sheet metal was nice but needed paint and the front end needed bushings. It had good back tires and poor fronts. Its always hard to say what a tractor will bring until it is sold.

In my book, an offer of about 1500 is max, and I personally would try lower. Worst part of these tractors is their not exactly useful for everything on modern farms, but if your using it for something like a snow pusher in the winter, of course it will do the job. I guess it all depends on what you need, and where you want to use it. Hope that helps on the pricing.
