I have a 550 oliver that acts like it is running out of gas, it may run between 20 min. to 1hr at low rpms or high rpms then it starts to spit and sputter and act like it is dying. You can pull out the choke and work it back and forth, or some time throw the throttle wide open and it will come to life. Then in 2 to 5 min. it starts all over again and again. I thought of vaper lock so I put a heat shield on and rerouted the gas line, the gas line is 1/4 tubing, gas tank clean and so is the lines. HAS ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS!!! THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

Check the gas cap and make sure the vent is clear, a plugged vent will cause a vacume stopping fuel flow.

I agree with the coil diagnosis. I had similar problems on both my 550 and 1550. It was the coil both times.

On my 550, a tired coil caused similar problems.
Good Luck

My guess would be junk in the carb.
