This tractor is a 1956 > Perkins 4 cyl.
Has cup with a spring load top on the side of the injection pump. What is it for? Thanks for any help and for previous information.

I just took a picture of a injection pump on a 40D4 Sunday at a little show. The cup is the cover for the diaphram and spring. You will also notice two adjusting screws in the intake manifold and a line leading from the injection pump to the intake manifold. This is the governor. Theis is a pneumatic governor. Send me an e-mail and I will send you the 2 pictures and try to explain it to you. That pump also requires oil in the pump's sump. More questions?

Regarding your answer re: injection pump, how much oil is required in the pump's sump? Thanks again.
