Don, if you have read the posts, I have come across a cracked housing in my 1950 trany. One option I have is to make a hybrid out of my 1955 which has a weak engine. The engine from 1955 was a newer one that is quite rebuildable. I know you purchased a used rear end and I was wondering about how much that ran. If I make the hybrid, do I sell the engine or rebuild it for tractor later. Also, what are the dates for the Baraboo show again. I can't seem to find my flier. Thanks, hope everything is going good your way. Did the dryness hurt you as much as it impacted us? Our lake is down almost 6 feet from constant irrigation. You don't want to know what my fuel bill is already :(

I think it ran us about $1400 for the rear alone. It was cheaper in the long run because the gear was 1st in, last out so lots of labor would've been involved, and we can't do that on our own.

Our corn looks greener than most I've seen around here, so I think we'll be able to fill both our silo's still. as far as fuel goes, I'm thinking of getting around the old fuel oil thank that was in my brother's house, putting a pump, filter, and auto-shutoff nozzle on it and buying more of the un-taxed for my truck. be able to make up for the price of a pump & everything pretty quick;-)

My dad just wishes he would've topped off both tanks instead of just getting 100 of gas.
