Saw this coverplate on a tranmission cover at a salvage yard. Any idea how this plate works. It is not an external control, but does direct the oil outside, maybe to a control connected in line. Is that possible. I know guys are always looking for a way to get external hydraulics for Super 55s and 550s. Any comments?

That one looks different than the cover plates I have seen in the past- also looks like a factory deal. Is it for sale? I'd gladly pay for your trouble and shipping (to Chehalis) as well. Or, where is it? I assume somewhere in Washington. Would like to get a look at it, and think I could fabricate something from it that would get a lot of these old gals "hydraulicking". On another subject, I went to Lynden yesterday- good show as usual, but disappointed that the tractor pull was at 6 PM instead of the usual 1 o'clock- Its about a 3 hour drive up from Chehalis, but much longer going home, through rush hour traffic on Friday afternoon in Seattle. Took me about 5 hours to get home. Highlight of the show for we Oliver fans was the fact that Massey Harris was the feature tractor, so they got to put a Massey in the show building, as well as an exhibit (such as it was)- so what did they select as their "feature tractor", but an Oliver! (MF 98, which, of course, is a GM Oliver in MF clothing).

Mike, I was at the show too, and was disappointed the pulling was at 6. I couldn't stay I had to be in Vancouver by 8 that night. What a drag. Anyhow, I noticed Scott Franklin's 98 sitting in the show building, I thought the same thing. : ). That plate is actually promised to StuBC if he wants it. It was Everson Farm Equipment in Everson, Washington. It's an old Oliver dealership. I already took it off the parts tractor and I am picking it up today. It doesn't have an Oliver part number, but it sure looks factory. Maybe I should make a cast of it. Anyhow, it was only $25.

Stu- I don't want the part- just want to look at it and take some measurements. Would gladly pay you for shipping both ways and something for your trouble. Thanks- Mike

For sure. We will figure something out so this works out. You are going to have to find time again to think about your adapter plate plans !! :)
