Hi...does anyone have or know of a picture online of a Oliver Airport 25 Model which is related to the 70? I've looked in the archive photos and my Oliver books and recent magazines. I'm looking to compare it to my 80 Airport Tug Industrial. Also would be curious to see a picture of a Oliver 77 Airport which might of been made or any other Airport special industrials from that era or related article information. Thank you. Next to the picture below in CH Wendel's book is an Industrial 70. If you notice the frame of the industrial it has mounting pads and the standard and airport models do not. That's just one obvious difference that makes the airport NOT an Industrial. I may be dreaming, but I seem to remember seeing a ser.# tag that actually says model 25. I'll have to look through some old books and HPOC magazines and see if I can find it. WB.

I purchased the Airport 25 that was in the Oliver magazine three or four years back. Some of you may remember that the man got the tractor for "FREE" and also talked the seller (GIVER) to through in a free cord of wood too! This one is all original and is orange with the industrial frame. Engine tag reads "Oliver 25".

I remember that story. That may be where I remember the "25" tag from. Maybe they made airport models from both industrials and standards? WB.

There is a picture in the book "Oliver Hart-Parr"
by C.H,Wendel on page 205. There are several other
Industrial tractors shown but not any are called Airport Tugs.

You are assuming to much.

Oliver built Industrial 70's in the late 30's and early 40's. These tractors were called 25's because of the horsepower. The latter 70 industrials were called just that 70 Industrials, and built up to 1948.

Before and during World War 2, Oliver advertised and sold some 25's as airport tractors.

They did not advertise any other model as a airport tractor.

A airport could have used any type of tractor to pull a plane around, including a row crop or standard, but I am not aware of any other Oliver tractor advertised as a airport tractor. This includes the 35 (80), 44 (90), or 50 (99).

Here are the pictures on that Oliver Tug or what might be a Airport Tug Tractor. This gas standard type tractor was used at one time by a circus out there in CA I was told for many years. It is near Reno, NV at present and the engine is stuck. Model 80 and Serial # 900467C41 which is listed as a Industrial Model 80 (1945). The price on it as-is is $1300 there.

I told Oliver Magazine about it and they wanted some pictures which I emailed them too now and they might include it in their upcoming Industrial issue in January. I wrote them after hearing they were coming out with a issue on the Industrials line. We know Oliver made the very rare Airport 25 (from the 70) which I included a picture in the link below too but still cant find too much info about a Tug 80 tractor or if they ever designated such a thing which is why I started this post as you recall. This article should be helpful too since I believe the factory did do some customs and send out models with various options. Again this has 22 brake drums which apparently were that large for when they unloaded large object off the circus trains and that. Looks like this 80 tractor started out yellow from everything we can tell, and then blue and orange circus colors later.

Hopefully the pictures show in the link below but if you can't see them email me at [email protected] or look here at this page I tried to put them on too- http://greenacresequipment.com/Oliver80.htm
