I just got my first Oliver, 1650 deisel. The first job was to put a new clutch in. The original clutch worked ok but had very little pedal left and no adjustment. So I thought it needed a clutch. Once it was apart the clutch pads were about 50%, the only problem I noticed was the three tabs that touch the throw-out bearing were almost wore off, paper thin. I installed the new cluth, pressure plate, throw-out, and pilot bearing. Put it all back together and it wont disengage. With the linkage adjusted all the way out, it still wont. I thought about extending the linkage but the tab sticking out of the bell housing would hit and stop on the housing before disengaging. So I know the linkage has not been shortened. I remember the throw-out bearing carrier and engage device fell off of the shaftduring replacement. Did I put this back wrong? Please help! Thanks!

When you say the throw-out carrier fell off I assume your talking about the tube that goes over the input shaft for the release bearing to slide on. What engage device fell off?

Welcome to the real world. First of all did you use a rebuilt or new pressure plate? Did you check the height of the release levers? Now does your tractor have an organic clutch drive disk or a button type clutch disk as depending on serial number both were used. In your words, what is the engaging device the Fork? Yes, it has to be installed correctly. Also we had a few that we fixed by drilling a hole about one inch below the existing hole i nthe arm that comes out of the bell housing. Questions?
