Wanting to repower a Cockshutt 40 gas, wondering about using either an Allis Chalmers 262 gas or Allis Chalmers 301 gas, any body tried it, I know it has been done. Would also consider using a Buda 273 gas, this is the motor the Cockshutt 50 uses, does anybody know what else uses it? Thanks for any help.

Claus,

Use the AC G-230 or G-262 to repower your Cockshutt 40 tractor. These engine blocks have the same exterior dimensions as the Buda 6B230 that you are removing. You will need some of the components from your old engine for either of the above first and only choice engines. Do not use the Buda 273 due to finding one of the few made, and worse, dealing with the block boring and finding new piston issues. Email, fax or phone me for the page of changes that deals with the project.
