My 77 is completely restored. It's been about 2-years since I restored it and ever since I got it back together the clutch has been making noise. I always thought it was the throwout bearing? (and kicked myself in the butt for not putting in a new one)My dad talked to someone about greasing the clutch, he thought that may be the problem. I am 800 miles from my tractor and my dad is babysitting it until I can move it down to where I live now and I want him to grease the clutch and need a little insight on how to get to it.Please advise...

How old is this 77 and I need serial number. Early 77 tractors had a bronze bushing for a pilot bearing. When they get dry they make the darnst noise. We used to oil them. Later models have a ball bearing pilot bearing. If you have that I agree with WFE. Also the 77 with a greaseable throwout beaing was added after the tractor was built. If you have it there will be a grease tube comming out of the back of the bell housing. Questions?

It is a 1952, I know the thowout bearing in not geaseable. I wish I could go out and look at it, but I am 800 miles from it. Trying to let my dad know what to try so he doesn't tear up my tractor. I wish I could remember how the clutch went together, but it seams like forever since I put it in?

Did you set pressure plate release fingers before you installed the clutch? What is the nature of the noise - clutch pedal pushed in make it appear, go away, only with pedal pushed in all the way, or only fully release? Some shops set the fingers for your application; others don't so you've always got to check it.

I makes the noise when you push the clutch pedal. It sounds like a claddle but It used to only do it when 1st started up. after running it for a while it seemed to go away. My dad said last time he moved the tractor it didn't want to disengage and seems to be sticking? He didn't tell me this until he almost rammed his GTO. I'm hoping to find a fix without too much tear down , she is painted perfect down to every bolt...
