I mowed some alfalfa/grass mix hay today with my new 1650 diesel and IH 1300 sickle mower. What a major improvement over the old Farmall H and semi-mounted mower I had been using. I could mow in 3rd Over, probably could have done 4th Over, but takin" it easy on the new toys. I was moving compared to the old H, and more comfortable too. I replaced the collector between the exhaust manifold and the muffler, after running into my shed with the muffler (look down the form a bit to read that story.) I"m getting some liquidy soot kinda stuff slowly running down the side of the muffler and out the bottom where it clamps onto the collector. This liquid soot is dripping on my clean block, and the general left side of the engine. Could this stuff be what is burning out of the new collector? All I did was wipe it out. It didn"t have this problem until I replaced the collector.
