Have recently "inherited" a non stuck Oliver 500. Tractor is complete except for the missing distributor. The engine in the tractor has "David Brown" embossed on it.
Anyone know the brand and model # of distributor used in this tractor?

Know where I can find a used distributor to see if I can get the tractor running?
Thanks
Bob(VA)

Get on the Case board here and ask for Elmer. What he doesn't know about David Browns ain't worth knowing.

When the 500 was introduced in 1960 it was sold as a lower cost tractor than the 550 and was probably more popular out of the Richmond, Harrisburg and Columbus branches. I would check on the case form. I do not know if a distributor for a later David Brown will fit. Also remember they were sold in Canada as David Browns before Oliver imported them. I will need to check my parts book to see if a manufacture and model number for the distributor is listed. Questions?

In those days, I would think it would be a Lucas distributor.
