Over the weekend, the E3 developed a miss/pop, started making white smoke.

Checked radiator, and there is a strong Gasoline odor there.

Check the plugs and compression, #1 was wet and sludge covered, ~25 psi (barely moved the needle).

#2 and #3 both check ~60 PSI.

#4 was at 90 PSI.

Oil level had not risen, yet.

Cracked block, head gasket, valves, all of the above, . . . ?

j. schibert covered it if the leak down goes to radiator pull the head and start looking for signs of gasket failure or a crack my opinion sounds like a crack throughto the coolant /water jacket

Might be smart to pump up each cylinder with air and then also have the pressure tester on the radiator and see if the pressure on the radiator increases on one cylinder in particular. Then if it does and the engine is disassembled have the head pressure tested. remember not all cracks in heads will hurt ou. You can also pressure test a block in frame but it takes alittle more time and equipment/ Questions?

How about borrowing a radiator pressure tester and pumping it up to 10 PSI and see if it holds pressure. Also do a cylinder lead down test and see where your compression went out to lunch at. Questions/

Well since I don't know much about that tractor this is just a guess/idea. I'd say probably the head gasket, or maybe a cracked head. But since it sort of did it quickly I'd guess the head gasket. Shouldn't be all that hard to pop the head off and have a look at it.
