I opened up the magneto on my HG crawler to file/set the points-- I had never opened up a magneto before. How in the world do you align the gears on the top of the magneto with the gear on the shaft by the points? The gear in the "cap" has an "A" and a "C". It looks impossible to me!

Thanks----- -

There is a line cast into the plastic outside gear and a slot in the top of the small steel gear. If this does not do it for you call me at 319 827 6140 after 6:00 Sunday night and I will tell you a different way. Set the flywheel on the spark line and make sure the mag is on number one. it fires 1-2-4-3 Good luck

The C stands for clockwise and the A stands for anti-clockwise. Naturally, have to know the rotation you need then "time" the mag for the correct rotation. My best guessitmate is you want to use the "C" mark. You may have to try to align the gears a couple of times before you "hit" them correctly.
