Need 77 Hydra-Lectric Pressure Relief Valve

Anyone have a pressure relief valve for the first model Hydra-Lectric pump? I've tried having a salvage outfit search for one, no response after a few weeks. My valve is dinged and while the pump operates, it makes an awful racket when working. Everything else checks out OK, so it has to be the screwed up valve (the only part that looks perfect on it is the spring, looks like someone forced it in wrong and screwed up the plug and holder). Any help appreciated.

As an aside, I had a "mechanic" work on the tractor a while back and asked that he check the pump pressure. Reported it was fine. Finally put lines on it and pulled the dip stick to check fluid level. Don't know how it could have been "fine", the reservoir was dry! That's what I got for not having the time to do the work myself.

If the reservoir was dry, it was likely that either the seals were bad or the center body was cracked. In either case, it might have held enough oil to build pressure for a little bit.
To see about the valve, call Carroll Vikel at 319-645-2627, Iowa, between 10-8 most days. Don't trust him to return calls. If he doesn't answer give him some time and try again. He has an incredible array of older Oliver parts and may have the item you are looking for.

I don't know how long it was dry (well, it still had a thin coat of oil on everything). Pump works well enough to easily lift the 8' drag type disc with 2 55 gal barrels full of water for added weight (probably about a ton total). Just makes a heck of a racket (sort of sounds like a chain dragging over the edge of a 3/8" sheet of steel) at some point during the lift or drop. Having found the damaged relief valve, and not other obvious problems, I suspect replacing that valve will eliminate the problem.

Thanks for the help.
