I am unable toprduce any oil pressure. Very poor flow at filter pulses slowly! I have flow all over even to rocker assy. I looked in the book and the diagram shows all oil through the filter? I have removed the pump and it generates pressure and flow fine! But I see tha not all goes through the filter, at the in let to the main galley it splits front to back. To the rear it does go to the filter but the half that goes forward heads to the relief and up to the timing gears and injector pump? My thought is that this part heading to the front is dumping back through the relief? I checked it but every thing seems OK! Don"t now what to do? any advise!!!

Since this is a 232 I would guess it is a 1550 or 1555 tractor. Now some questions, where is your oil pressure line attached to the oil gallery. Also there is a restrictor disk in the filter assembly that in a broad sense controls engine oil pressure. Do you have a parts book? Questions?

I have seen the wrong filter(without a restrictor) screwed onto the base and the tractor being used.So check your filter for a very small hole inside. The oil that goes to the rockers, timeing gears and injector pump is all metered by the main bearings so they don't affect oil preasure much, like the filter and main relief do.

Even with filter removed it barely comes out of filter housing. I have had the oil gage right to the filter mount flange, there is a 1/8 port on it,also below the flange there is a 1/8 port directly on the block and I plugged into that still no pressure. I had a Baldwin filter B164 that had a restrictor in it witha very small hole in the out port on the filter but it seemed like the pressure could not overcome the spring in the filter so I removed that filter and installed a Baldwin TB154 that is free flowing with no restrictor or drain back baffle.I have not tried to start it yet with this element but i don"t think this has any thing to do with it because my gage is connected before the filter and I had zero pressure. I think the oil is flowing the path of least restriction which seems to be to the front of the engine toward the relief of the front cam bearing but i can"t confirm this?

My brain is not thinking today and am trying to remember a few things. One, on your filter assembly the filter should be parallel with the frame. Second is your fitting for the oil pressure line going to the gauge installed in the main oil gallery Is the gasket betwwen the filter base and the block have the oil feed hole open? Do you know what a bearing leak detector is and can you make one or borrow one?

Yes the filter is parallel to the frame and I have the gage in the galley, I also had it in the port on the filter assy. No I do not know what a bearing leak detector is but if you could explain I am sure I could make one.
