880 choke problem

Just had the carburetor rebuilt, and gas tank chemically cleaned on my 1959 880. I added an inline shut off valve in the gas line and an in-line fuel filter. Now the tractor starts and runs normally as long as the choke is pulled clear out (carburetor butterfly valve closed). If I push the choke in any at all the engine starts losing power and starts to die until I pull the choke clear out again. Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks.

Sounds like the carb rebuild was bad, I.E. they/you missed some thing. The main jet is probably clogged still.
