I bought this tractor that had been sitting for 10 years or so. Pump sides were badly scored but the center plate looked fine. Had a knowledgeable Oliver mechanic say so. Took the side plates in and had them machined. New bearings and seals. I'm not getting any hint of pressure out of the pump. Won't raise the 3-point, won't even make the hoses jump.
Is it a safe bet that the problem is the pump, or could some of the other items in the Oliver shop manual troubleshooting section be viable candidates?

Stick a pressure gauge on one of the hoses and see what happens. If your relief valve is leaking it will act the same way. Also since it is agas tractor take the top little lid off the hydraulic and see if the fluid move (circulates ) when you idle the engine. A word of caution, it will tend to splash out. Good luck.

It may have been the relief valve. I removed it and only the stem came out. The poppet and spring stayed in the base. Whether they were ever on or not, I'm not sure. The parts looked OK and clean, so I reassembled it and it works fine. I haven't put it on a gauge yet, but will soon to verify that it meets specs. I just ran the 3-point up and down.
