Hi,

Brother in law has a 1963 Oliver, not sure model, probably around a 30hp. Wants to know what to use in rear and hydraulics for oil.

Thanks,

JU

The model is going to be more important than the year. Can you be a little more descriptive. Gas or diesel, Rowcrop or Utility? What would help me is where is the hydraulic filter located, What brand and model of engine oil filter may also help.

It is a 1960 model 550 not a 63. The transmission and hydraulic are two seperate resevoirs. It takes 1 quart less than 5 gallon for the fianl drives compartments. Check plug is in the back by the PTO shaft. Look underneath for the drain plugs. There are more than one. All the transmission goes in the fill cap in front of the hydraulic lift. Change the filter on the hydraulic. Read the other post up a couple of items on 550 fluids.

Will have to call brother in law in Ky who left a message with my mother in law (convoluted, heh?)

What I know is it is a utility, wide front end, gas, and sits low to the ground looking something like a Ford 2000. I will see what I can find out as far as a model. From what he talked it sounds like a common hydraulic sump/trans combo for fluid.

Don"t know if that is any more helpful.

JU
