My Oliver 80 nf steers very hard and has a lot of play in the steering wheel. Does anyone have any ideas of what is wrong or the best way to fix it? I know you can adjust both the front ped. and also the steering gear box under the gas tank, I was just wondering which one would be the best to start with.

The one that has the most play (slop). Hard steering is probably related to the front pedestal.

I had a chance to check the worm gear under the gas tank- nothing looked too bad up there. Has anyone taken apart the front pedistal? It looks as if the crank needs removed to get access and wondered if that was right.
Also, when inside, does anyone know the correct adjustment?
Thanks
