My 1855 has a Vickers hydraulic pump on the side of the trans. there is a flat head screw does anyone know which way to turn it to get more pressure, or is that what it is for?

When I adjust the relief valve I turn it to the spot where the pump becomes the most quiet. I got that tip from a now retired white service manager.

John is the pump expert, but you have to be VERY carefull adjusting the compensator valve. If not done right you can cause the pump to fight itself, or never de-stroke, and the oil will heat in minutes. You actually should have a flow meter as well as a pressure guage. Baum Hydraulics in Omaha used to have a decent flow meter for not too high a price.

Does it thread into a little part that points to the front of the tractor? Do you have a pressure gauge? What is your pressure now. You need to have that or you can make matters work in a few minutes.
