My husband and I just purchased an Oliver 1550 Hydra-Power Drive Diesel tractor with hydrolic 4wheel drive? The hydrolic units onf the front end say Levy Live-Power Wheel We are trying to figure our how everything works and if the hydra-power drive refers to the hydralic units on the front end. We also need to bring the font end in by about 8 inches so we can use it on our row crop but the arms seem to be rusted in place and we cant"t slide them in or out any suggestions or answers that would help us would be great.

Denice,
I agree that you have a rare one there. I have a 1655 w/mechanical FWA and know of several others, but have never seen a complete tractor with the hyd FWA intact. if possible please post a few pictures on this site. what part of the country are you in?

The hydra-power is the two speed unit between the engine and the transmission. The hydraulic drive refers to the front axle. There is a hydraulic motor in each wheel and a crankshaft driven pump that supplies the hydraulic motors. When you want to move the arms I would imagine you mean the tubes that slide in and out. You may want to try to move them out first and work the rust out. They probably have never moved. That is a rather rare tractor.
