Recently added a 2255 that I'd like to be able to put into a few tractor pulls each year. It's a '74 with a rebuilt 3208 set at 210 (flywheel) hp. Target weight is 12,500 lbs. Currently weighs 14,400 with adjustable row crop front, 18.4R38 singles, factory White cab with heat and air (air works so I'm reluctant to remove cab), and of course those big heavy castings between the planetary and the rims. Also has front starter weight on it. Question is, what do those big castings between the planetary and the wheel rims weigh? If they alone are 1000 pounds each, I can remove them, have fabricated a steel piece to do the same function, and reach target weight without removing cab. Any luck? Have also located cover on injection pump, under which fuel delivery adjustment is made. Anyone know how to adjust the mechanism under that cover to get an extra 40-50 hp?

The cast peices weigh a good 1000lbs, you are going too need a turbo to go over 225hp. Good Luck

Congrats WFE on your purchase, I got your reply on that post a few days back, and I have been ever so busy. Drop me an email when you get the chance, I've had some changes going on, and plus I need directions to get to your place to see that 2255. If you dont have my email, reply and I will uncover. Regards, j meyer
