I just bought an oliver 1855mfd through agdealer. I got screwed big time. The ad advertized 4 new tires and even showed them in the picture. When I finally got it delivered the 2 front tires had been swapped with 2 totally bald tires. The previous owner swapped in a 354 perkins from a combine but made a mess of it and I am now having to redo it and will will likely cost another 7 grand. The dealer had advertised it as being in excellent condition, totally untrue. I complained to Agdealer and they said they just sell ads and are not going to turn away advertisers regardless of their ethics. They could learn from Ebay. The dealer's name was Luc Provencher in Quebec and he won't make it good. I see he is advertising more similar tractors all in suspiciously excellent condition. Could you post this email in your forum to warn others.

Another dealer/auctioneer that's crooked is C.A. Tesch in Forest Junction. Lots of invisible bidders, inside bidding, etc. A couple people I know went to their auction this past April and things just went EXPENSIVE. Older Badger chopper boxes went for $4000, other brands just as bad. We paid about $1500 about 7 years ago for our Gehl 970. Replaced 2 beaters but it's in really good shape otherwise. got that from Vanderloop Equip. a few miles away.

What gives Felix? A day ago you posted on this forum that you had just finished restoring this tractor and wondered if you had too much money in it. Now you post that you bought the tractor sight unseen save for some pictures and think you got screwed. I don't know anyone who would buy an old tractor for $20000 without seeing it in person. If the tractor was in pristine condition as you had indicated in your first post at least you would have a decent tractor albeit a high priced one for what it is. If you really bought this tractor without looking at it first and it turns out to be junk, well you really are screwed. I might take a chance on a $1500 tractor sight unseen and hope for the best but not a $20000 one. Am I missing something?

Yes you are missing something. The tractor is in pristine condition now because it has been in the shop for the last two months. It wasn't that way before. Also when you are buying a machine from 2,000 miles away it is hard to get a look at it first. It looked good and had new tires in the pictures. Ag Dealer should have some form of buyer protection if they expect to sell on the net. As far as price I paid $8,500 Can. plus shipping of $1,200. Please do post a followup again I am interested in comments.

Last time I went tractor shopping in the midwest I flew round trip Seattle to Omaha for 150 bucks, complements of Priceline dot com. Not a big investment, in the overall scheme of things, and got a nice trip out of it as well.

Sorry Felix. Sounds like the guy is a rotten egg. Not much you can do though. This old world had really become a buyer beware place. Not saying its right just thats the way it is. I'll definitely shy away from that site. good luck with the tractor. You are going to have it a long time. Being a MFWD makes it a little more collectible. If you did a really nice job fixing it up you may be able to use it for a while and then sell it and at least get a portion of your money back. Good luck. Take care.
