What are some weak points to look for in a 2255 oliver. Do they have a pan in rear end to deflect oil from getting on to pto shaft and then working its way into clutch . Thanks for any Help

It is one of the best tractors WHITE ever made. They have a oil seal on the PTO shaft to keep oil from getting on clutch.I was not happy with 160hp, Turned more fuel too it running 225hp.Than could not hold clutch, put new 14in clutch in with one washer under preasure plate springs, it helped but ripped center out of chutch. So I put in a 13in double disc clutch out of 2-180 WHITE, been running for one year no trouble. I have to go knock on wood, hope this helps.

I have a 1973 2255 4wd with the 3150 that I am doing a complete overhaul on the whole tractor. I was going to have the pump and injectors done and would like to have it set to 200-225 hp. What needs to be done to put the 13 inch double disk 2-180 clutch? Will it fit right in? I am going to replace the clutch anyway while the engine is out. I have not got the over/under off yet and probably won"t get to it for a little while. Thanks in advance for any info.

You need a throw out bearing holder from 2-180, my 2255 has 3208 motor and fly wheel was already drilled for 13in. double disc clutch. My 2-150 White, I had to drill holes in fly wheel for dbl. disc clutch. That's all I had to do. It was rather easy. I hope this helps.
