Well I finally did it. I, and my 12 yr. old son, removed the engine from my G850 to replace the hyraul shift unit. I know not a very big accomplishment compared to some of you, but still it is my FIRST time. Now to get to the reason why I pulled the engine. Is there anything that I should be checking for since the front end is all apart?
Thanks

It's an Ollie painted as a Minnie Mo, If I remember right it's a 1755.

I guess I'm too stuck in the 50 and early 60's. Thanks for the education, Don.

First time, not had any experience with your tractor. But in general, if the engine is out, check front and rear seals and clutch (if it has one).

Don is correct, a MM G-850 is a the same as an Oliver 1755, just yellow. Mine has green primer under it as I removed the engine.
Denny, thanks for the advice, and yes, it has a clutch.
If you want to see one, check Stuck and Troubled and type in "G-850" in search and it should find mine.

You should hold your head high. This is a very big repair that you have undertaken. Not many will be bigger. A lot of us here have taken junk and made it into something like new. That is simply a series of relatively small and large projects. Yours is plenty big!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have the hydraul unit fixed. Now to get it back into the tractor. God bless good friends with wise advice.
