Shep. So strange to see such old and small machinery like that any more being used. In my area 12 rows are becoming real rare everything is 16 row or 24 and few 36 row units. they are heavy the last 24 row I put together was not quite 5000lbs on the 3pt arms. I bet the hooking and unhooking to move between fields gets old with your unit. Been there done that.

That moline must be running pretty well. I don't see a Cummins in it yet. ";^)

Great pictures. Pretty country.

Thanks for sharing.

I am hoping to get another year or two out of that engine before it gets too bad. It is getting a little weak and it takes a snort of either to get it going in the morning but it is still chugging along. Gotta love them slow running Moline engines.

I think I am gonna try to rebuild that big 585 engine when the time comes. I may try to add a turbo to it and kick it up 20 HP or so, but not get carried away. And of course it will need a new paint job and get the over drive fixed. But so far it is doing a good job, so I will keep running it.

Thanks

I think old G1355 needs to send you a picture of his green G1355 and his red planter.

Yeah, the neighbor has a green G1355 with a cab and he plants with a 6 row kinse (sp) planter. My G needs a paint job bad and I have been debating on weather to leave it yellow and white or change it to green like most of the rest of my tractors.

If it was the nice yellow with the brown belly I would be more inclined to leave it yellow, but that energy yellow and bright white color scheme are not my favorite. The neighbors green G-1355 looks really sharp with the white cab and the big radials. Havent decided yet, but it still looks good in front of that big red planter....

Nice to see a tractor in her work clothes. I have a G850, (yellow 1755) and debated to paint it green to match my 1755, but after finding out that there were not many G850s made, I am going to keep it "Prairie Gold". Thanks for the picture. I'll have to send one of mine.

See what you mean by unloading the front of the MM a little.

Yeah, that planter is really heavy in transport. When going down the highway in transport only the center rib on the front tires gets black, so it really makes the front end light.

May have to get a couple MM weights for the nose :-)

I guess you guys are done planting dave ???

I was wandring if the draw bar on your G1355 is set up like our 1755 it has 2 positions if you make it so it dont stick out as far maby it would help untel you find whaights I had to put ours in to clear the deck of the brush hog

Yes the drawbar is very simular on the G-1355. I am not really having a problem when hooked to the drawbar, it is when the planter is in transport and all that weight transfers to the three point hitch, that is when the front gets light. It is happening just like you said, because the weight is being transfered to the end of the lift arms and is further back then the drawbar.

Thanks for the thought.

I did not realise the whait was on the 3pt then the only way moving the draw bar would do any thing would be to ty it on the front no good thow have you looked at how the waight Bracket is bolted on I was told that if you wanted to you could put oliver waits on a white but we were at an auction with a 2-155 and a 2-85 I dont know if it works that way on all of them

Hey Shep,
Too bad we're so far apart. I've got a clean White 6100 series 8 rn no-til that would look sweet with the Minnie. Comes with 8 rn rm cultivator. Lost all but my hay ground so I'm retired! Great pictures though. Larry NE IL

Where were you 6 months ago when I bought this one???? I looked for a white, or a kinse, but found this CIH on a good deal and so far I am pleased. This planter came from Ohio, so you are really not that far from me....

Thanks

I just saw a planter just like yours except it was a 12 row sell over the weekend. I think it brought about $2500. There was also a White 2255 and 2-105 that went real cheap. $5000 would have bought both of the tractors with money left over... real rough looking equipment.
