I am getting moisture out of my exhaust when I start it up, it is only happening when tractor sits a while. I also noticed that I may be getting exhaust out of the radiator. It don"t appear to be blowing white smoke when under a load. I"m thinking I may have a blown head gasket. Anyone have any answers!!! Thanks.

O. K. Refresh my memory.Earlier this winter did you not post on here that the engine had a head gasket failure? What all and how well did you check out the failure at that point? Do you have the original failed head gasket? If so what kind of failure and where did it fail? Here are some things on my check list: Liner height. Measure the height on each liner in four places with the liner clamped down. How much variation is there in each liner and what is the reading for the high and low liner in the engine.
Cylinder head: Was it checked with an accurate straight edge? Did it get a hair cut as we used to say to make sure it was true? Was it magged? Was it pressure tested? What kind of procedure did you use to prep the retaining hardware before reassembling the engine? Did you retorque the head after you warmed the engine up? Is the head gasket the CORRECT head gasket? I would have to look on the 270, but I know for the 354 engines there are at least 5 different head gaskets. Perkins had a habbit of doing that. What type of gaket is it material wise? And did you pressure test the radiator cap? Waiting on your reply

John, This is a problem that I just noticed! You must be thinking of someone else about the blown head gasket earlier. You had helped me with putting a hydraulic pump on the crank of the same 560. From what I can tell is that I am getting water in the exhaust and it is blowing a little white smoke when throttle is about 1\4 open. I don't appear to be losing any coolant to the amount that is noticable. I'm hoping that it is not a cracked head or block.
