I have a G850, (Yellow 1755), and its hydraul shift is going out. Is it true that it could cost $2000.00 to rebuild? Are there any options?
Please advise.

They are not hard to rebuild if you have any experience. Sounds like the direct drive clutch pack is shot. That is the least expensive repair. But for clutch/spacer plates alone are around $350 and the sprag clutch is another $225. New output shafts are around $1500 if needed. Seal kits for them are also pretty pricy (I think around $300). We just buy gaskets and seals needed individually. You will probably just need clutch packs and a sprag, if underdrive and overdrive work. Ball park fiqure for parts, $600.

More like $3,600 in my experience. It really depends whats all wrong and the labor rate. What does it do? Options would be a used unit.

It operates in underdrive and overdrive, but not direct drive. That drive is just like underdrive.
Are used units available? Where? Thanks

First off I certainly would quit using the tractor. Most people keep using their tractor when a one drive goes out. That just componds the problem. I certainly would not take it anywhere if you have the ability to take the motor out. The 3 speed is very simple to repair. If your input and output shafts are ok, you are looking at around $500 to rebuild it. If the shafts are bad, you are looking at $1400 and $1600 respectively or at least that much!! We have fixed all are 3 speeds ourselves with many hours on them now. I have a output shaft but it is for one with a trunion mount. You can save alot of money by doing it yourself.. Marc

Thanks for the advice. I have stopped using it. While I have done clutch work, I haven't done hydraul drive unit. I will see when I get the motor out and the unit pulled. Thanks for the help, I certainly appreciate it.
