I have an 880 Oliver diesel serial # 73736873 spec # 48-0017. It is the off color( lime green). It will run but needs to be restored. Is this tractor worth any more or less because the color??
What's it worth??

The lime green ones are very rare. It all depends on what condition it is in on it's worth. Give us some more details on condition.

We own #73727 mist-green 880 that was featured on the cover of Oliver Heritage #2. The nicest original 880 is #73723 owned by Blane Bolte near Walcott, Iowa. I had mine restored and repainted since someone had repainted it long ago. Go to Larry Harsin's website www.olivertractor.com and you can see a good picture of what his mist-green 880 looks like. You might also contact Sherry Schaefer at www.oliverinformation.com and she can give you more information on some of the paint codes and information that might help you out too. I'd like to see a picture too. Email me at [email protected] and I'll help too if I can and can send pictures of our 880. Best regards,
Kent

The 880 is straight and complete with the exception of the power booster which was removed several years ago when the clutch was replaced. There is some rust on the right rear side cover
which will need some serious attention. All of the rest of the sheetmetal is in good shape. I used it until 4-5 years ago and it has been inside most of the time since then.

NJ, If your tractor looks good enough WITHOUT repainting it, you could just overhaul the engine and leave the tractor as original. The value of this tractor will hinge on what you want from it. Will you be keeping it to use, or as a collectable, or selling it? Good original paint on one of these will bring big bucks. Completely restored and repainted (done right) would probably bring more, but matching the paint could be tough. A friend just purchased a real nice one owner mist green 880 gas, but hasn't told anyone what he paid. From all indications probably around 10-12K. REALLY sharp original. If restored, I doubt it would bring 15K. Who knows?
