IAM IN THE PROCESS OF RESTORING A OLIVER 1800 CHECKERBOARD. WHAT COLOR IS THE PANEL OF THE REAR FENDERS WHERE THE LIGHTS ARE LOCATED, I HAVE SCENE THE 1850 SERIES WITH CLOVER WHITE. THE TRACTOR I HAVE IS GREEN, BUT I HAVE NOTICED IT WAS REPAINTED AT ONE TIME.

My 1800 light panels are green. The seat on my tractor is entirely black, although mine is an early series "B".

I have a question for both of you. What is the serial number of your oldest 1800 and does this one you are restoring have the white seat? Or for 1800A do any of the 5 have the white seat? I started at the dealership when the Columbus Branch was demonstrating the new 1800 A series and I was thinking on the first ones that fall those panels were white. I know the later A series were green

JS and Jim,

I will pass on what little I know. Of my 1800s, the 1960 A earliest has a number of 92000. The others are one more 1960, two 1961s and one early 1962. The earliest two did have a white seat only. The others were single color green or replaced at one time with two tone black and white. I have replaced all the seats with new ones from Jerry Stair of Ag Parts First along with the new checkerboard grille emblems he sells. I have been very pleased with all of the items. He did a great job on them. Some of the tractors still have the original white faced gauges. I see Jerry has started selling new white faced tachs so that will help alot of the fellows who have these tractors. Sure do enjoy these tractors. All of them have Gemmers in them that have been rebuilt and steer great. Sorry for the rambling.

Jim,

The light background should be green. I have five of the A series and they are all the same. I have never seen it any other way.

DAVE
