Hey I'm usually at the Ford board, but was bone yarding today and saw a Cockshutt 80. Was run recently enough to have 12V alternator on it. Pretty darned complete and only $600. I'm not involved and I'd be in deep dodo if I got it but it sure is an oddity in my world. It's in Harrisville WI

It would be unwise to pass up an oppertunity like that because you can sell it on E-bay and get at least 1000 bucks out of it.

Rick,
You had better jump on that tractor like a chicken on a junebug. If it starts and runs at all it's a good buy. If it does'nt it may be a good source of parts.RAB is right that the manifolds are often bad but can be welded amd repaired. They can be purchased new but are expensive.

At that asking price, and complete, it must be a good opportunity for someone to aquire it. Most likely the manifold is the problem, but they can be repaired or replaced. Another remote possibility is a valve rattling around inside, but not a problem on these tough old engines. It would have been snapped up already, this side of the pond - whatever the condition!
Regards, RAB
