I repowered my Oliver 1750 Gas with a 1755 Diesel Engine. After it is all back together the cover that is over the drive shaft access in the rear is leaking. There is a center piece that is pressed in and it is leaking. Any thoughts?? How do I fix it?

Does tractor have a Hydra-Power or Over/Under unit behind bell housing, or is it simply leaking from the output shaft of the bell housing? Is the leak coming from the cover/inspection plate in the bell housing? Need some help to visualize what you are seeing, unless you can post a picture.

Well I should explain better. First yes it has a Hydraul shift but that is not where the problem is.Let try this. If you stand at the back of the tractor and look at the PTO shaft, immediatly above it is a cover plate that allows you to remove the drive shaft for the PTO and Hydraulic Pump. That is the cover with the leak. It is a cast peice with a thin pressed in metal center. The pressed in peice is leaking?

Thanks

O. K. I take it you did not change the engine yourself. Pop that cover off with a screwdriver and you will see the plug that I mention in the next line. That plug that is held in place by a snap ring. The plug has an O-ring that seals it. Remove the snap ring with a pair of needle nose pliars and pull that plug using a 1/2-13 thread bolt and pop the old O-ring out and replace it.

Oh, now I know exactly what you're talking about, and this has happened to me on more than one occasion. When you swapped motors, you removed and then reinstalled the solid drive shaft for the pto gearbox. There is a plug with a threaded hole in it that you have to remove before you expose the shaft. You remember the o-ring that seats in the annular groove in the tubular shaft that the plug helps to seal? Did you replace it? Even if you did, pull out the plug and o-ring again and check it for any minor tears. This is normally the cause of the leak. If you want added reassurance, you can try some RTV silicone around the pressed in cover when you install it. Good luck.
