You are one tough guy to get ahold of. My question is on a cockshutt 30 non-continous pto. I have been told that the pto only turns when the wheels do. Is this true or does it only turn when the clutch is released? And my second question is do you have one? E-mail me please. Thank you.

Troy

Shutt30,

The NON-Live PTO on a Cockshutt 30 / Co-op E3 / Farmcrest 30 is like most other tractors with NON- Live PTO. When you push in the clutch pedal, the PTO stops. The ground speed has nothing to do with the PTO operation.

Shutt 30,

The NON-Live PTO units are very difficult to find. The "NEW THING" was LIVE PTO "first by COCKSHUTT" with the introduction of the "30" in late 1946. I expect that 99.9% these tractors had L-PTO. I have only seen less than a handful with the standard PTO. Standard NON-live two speed PTO's were offered on some CCIL E3 tractors in western Canada. These are very rare also.
