Hey guys, I have a strange question for you. I have a Case E2 hay elevator. I could not an Oliver (yet). It was made in 1952- 1960 and was originally powered by a gas motor. Now it was changed to a dead 3/4 HP electric motor. I have a new motor. However, it used to have a jack shaft with the gas motor years ago. It is no longer on it. Can I use the electric motor with a direct hook up since no jackshaft is present or is the hay going to be projected to the next farm. I figure I would ask for I need to buy the belt and engine pulley but I did not know what size to make it right. Any ideas?

I had an 1800A but sold it on my farm sale and it stands in my neighbor's yard rusting. As for the hay elevator, slow wins the race, gear it as slow as you can, bales end to end on the conveyor will get to the barn as fast as you can load and mow them away. Do a little math and if you can move the conveyor about 100 ft/min will be fast enough. 1750 RPM electric motor, 3" diameter pulley driving a 12" pulley on the elevator would be too fast as the bales will be hard to start on the conveyor if it is traveling too fast.

Max,

That is what I thought about the 3" driving the 12". But, the 100 Ft/min I did not know of. That is a great help and I will see what drive pulley I need to get since the 12" driven pulley is there. The only deviant factor is the 3" or smaller drive pulley.
