I got some numbers from my post a while back and I went to my supplier, told one of the older guys that I was told they were centari but wanted to make sure, and he brought them up and yep, they worked. Then yesterday when my brother called to order them, he talked to the younger kid and he said "no, the green doesn"t come up, for centari the # has to have a letter in front of it" My brother is going today at lunch and he"s gonna talk to the same guy I did. Probabaly the same letter that was in front of the white, just wasn"t there. We got my brother"s in-law"s garage now to paint in if we can"t use the booth at his soon-to-be-ex-employer"s shop. I guess it"s good to know a few people and to have a Plan B. I brought some really greasy parts to get hot tanked. Not sure when they"ll be done. I guess it"s going as good as possible. I"ll try to post some pictures as it goes together.

Don,

I am setting in the local Dupont paint store as I write this. Color Net paint formulas and info are only a mouse click away. The kid doesn't know what he is talking about or doing.

May I suggest you not use Centari. It is good paint BUT there is so many better paints availible. One of my personal favorites is Chroma One. Expensive but well worth it.

The paint I use most often is Nason Ful-Thane Urethane. Costs a little more than Centari and lasts a lot longer. I have bought all 3 Oliver greens in this formulation and they look great.

I took my 88 to a tractor pull right after I finished it and I had 2 people tell me it was the best looking Oliver on the fair grounds. :) It was painted with Nason Ful-Thane.

If you absolutely HAVE to or WANT to use Centari, trying using Chroma One hardener in it. The CO hardener will make the Centari shine like new money. Just don't wait 2 weeks to try and buff it; you'll buff it, but it will take 3 or 4 times longer to work it and you will wish you had only waited a day or two.

Try the Nason Ful-thane. You will like it, I promise.

If you need the numbers for Dupont's Oliver Green(s) post me a message here.

My brother all ready took care of it today, bought a little of each for now to see what it looks like, then when the tractot comes back we'll order the rest. He's worked with centari before and I trust his word more than my own on what I have researched. Thinking of putting some clear over the top for even more protection.

Clear over Centari looks good. Been there, done that.

IMPORTANT....When clear coating Centari make sure the mixer understands that you are going to clear coat it and have them provide you with a good quality hardener for the Centari. You can use Chroma One hardner and it will shine like new money.

Wait about 1 hour after the last coat of Centari and then apply the clear in 2 wet coats waiting about 30-45 minutes between coats. Temp and humidity will vary these times somewhat.

I still vote for Nason Ful-Thane. Once you get set up for it and see the results you will never go back to Centari again.
